Since 2021 we've opened over 60 kollelim and supported 1000+ yungerleit across 9 cities.
We did this b’makom she’ein ish, in response to a serious problem in Beitar: there simply weren’t enough spots in existing Kollelim for the large number of newlyweds each year. Bachurim would get married and be unable to join a Kollel due to lack of space.
Without these Kollelim, many of these yungerleit would be left sitting alone in shuls, with devastating effects on their hasmada and shalom bayis.
Through our seed program, we've added over 1000 yungerliet - the cost of each yungerman is just $1 for half, or $2 to sponsor a full yungerman.

The Beitar Kollel Crisis
Five years ago, Beitar Illit faced a Kollel crisis. Each year, over 500 couples a year were getting married, but the kollelim couldn't accept the newly yungerleit due to financial strain. Local leaders tried to solve the crisis, but nothing practical happened.
As a last resort, we were approached to help.
As a city with no BMG or Mir, married yungerleit in Beitar have no place to learn. If they're not accepted to a Kollel, they're left alone without structure. Learning on their own or with a chavrusa in a shul isn't sustainable. This lack of structure can negatively affect their marriage, self-esteem, and Torah growth.
Fathers came to Rosh Hakollelim, crying with tears in their eyes, begging to accept their sons. The response "We can not, we simply do not have the budget."
This crisis highlighted the urgent need for new kollelim to be established.
In the words of Rav Tzvi Braverman shlit"a, Av Beis Din of Beiter, "This is just as much hatzlas nefoshos as it is hachzakas haTorah, as a newlywed with no place is terrible for his shalom bayis and the future house he would like to build in Klal Yisroel".
Our Solution: Seed Money To Open New Kollelim
After extensive research and with the enthusiastic backing of HaRav Chaim Kanievski Zatzal, YLC"T Harav Don Segal shlita, and all the Rabbonim of Beitar - most notably Chief Rabbi HaRav Chaim Weiss shlita and Av Beis Din HaRav Tzvi Braverman shlita, we created a system to provide seed money to encourage opening new kollelim as follows (per yungerman, per seder).
The total a yungerman receives per seder is 1000 nis (the accepted stipend for this age group).

The government (or Keren Olam HaTorah) covers about 400 nis

This leaves the Rosh Hakollel to raise only the last 350 nis
Essentially, we have lowered the barrier of entry to open a new Kollel.
Our main qualifying rule: We only accepted yungerliet who did not have a kollel the previous zman.
Beyond Beitar: A Widespread Challenge
As we became more involved, we discovered that this “Kollel Crisis” is not unique to Beitar Illit. The very same challenge exists in many other non-central communities across Eretz Yisroel — places like new areas of Beit Shemesh, Lod, Tiveria, Afula, and Tel Tzion. In all of these cities, young couples are building their homes with tremendous mesiras nefesh, yet the local kollelim simply cannot absorb the growing numbers. Without proper kollelim, these esteemed yungerleit are left without the structure, chizuk, and sense of belonging they so badly need.

How does $1 a day sponsor a yungerman?
In truth, $1 a day covers half a sponsorship. Each yungerman receives a standard stipend of 1,000 NIS per seder. Here’s how it breaks down:

Your $1/day (≈ 100 NIS/month) pools with others and adds up to about 250 NIS per seder through the Seed Program.

Government funding (Keren Olam HaTorah) contributes about 400 NIS.

The Rosh Kollel raises the final 350 NIS.
Together, this completes the full 1,000 NIS stipend a yungerman receives.
So while $1/day alone doesn’t fully cover a yungerman, when combined with government support and kollel fundraising, it makes sponsoring Torah learning possible—turning a small daily gift into a full monthly stipend.
What difference does $2 a day make compared to $1?
$1 a day covers half a sponsorship. With $2 a day, you provide the full 200 shekels per seder that unlocks a yungerman’s complete 1,000 shekel stipend. In other words, $2 a day means you alone can fully sponsor a yungerman’s Torah learning.
Who is eligible to receive support?
Only vetted kollelim and yungerleit in Eretz Yisrael are supported. Each kollel is reviewed for leadership, transparency, and genuine financial need.
What type of yungerleit are helped?
Dedicated bnei Torah learning full-time in kollel. TorahGiving currently supports hundreds of yungerleit across dozens of kollelim.
